  • 1. RTR (Reel to Reel)

RTR production lines were started in the 1980s by a handful of large FPC FPC manufacturers around the world.Due to the immature technology adopted at that time, the qualified rate of FPC produced on the RTR production line was very low.In the late 1990s, due to the expansion of TAB and COF market and the initial maturity of RTR technology, the advantages of the equipment and process for continuous production of FPC in the production of TAB and COF began to be gradually developed.By the beginning of the 21st century, the technology of producing FPC by RTR was relatively mature.Advantages of RTR: no FPC attached to clamps and other relevant working procedures.Avoid FPC creases and scratches. If FOG, NCP and other products with high requirements on dust-free environment should be done in the latter process, the pollution of personnel operation and environment can be avoided.Simplify packing, transportation and operation conditions. It can meet the requirements of ultra-thin, high-end FPC COF and other processes.RTR disadvantages: high specialization of production line equipment and narrow range of applicable products.RTR production equipment is expensive to invest.Suitable for large batch FPC production. It is not suitable for multi-variety and small-batch production.

    2. Fixture attachment

The key of fixture adhesion production mode is FPC adhesion and fixation. The purpose of FPC attachment is to turn the FPC into "PCB" by using jig, so that the FPC can SMT like "PCB".Compared with REEL TO REEL continuous REEL type, fixture adhesion method has low cost and is simple and easy TO use. Therefore, using fixture for FPC SMT is the most commonly used method in the industry.
